Privacy Policy

This policy explains what personal data UpSkilliT Studio (studio.upskillit.com), operated by UPSKILLIT TRAINING SOLUTIONS PRIVATE LIMITED, collects, why, and your rights under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and the Information Technology Act, 2000.
1. What we collect
- Account details from Google sign-in: your name, email address, profile photo and a Google account identifier. We never receive your Google password.
- Mobile number: verified once by SMS one-time password (sent by Google Firebase), so that each person has one account and free credits are given fairly. You can also sign in with it. We never share it or use it for marketing SMS.
- Photos you upload for a video or lip-sync video: used only to make that one video (on our own studio GPU or, if you choose Google Veo, sent to Google's Veo service), and deleted from our storage as soon as the video is made (or if the request is refused).
- Audio you upload (where available): used only to make your lip-sync videos, private to your account, and deleted automatically 7 days after upload (or when you delete it).
- ✨ Ask chats: the messages you type in Ask and its replies, so you can come back to a chat and see what was made from it.
- What you create: song titles, lyrics, style descriptions, settings, and the songs generated for you.
- Credits and payments: your credit balance and history, and payment records from Razorpay (order and payment IDs, amount, status, and the email/phone you give Razorpay). Card, UPI and bank details are handled by Razorpay and never reach us.
- Technical data: basic logs such as request times and errors, used to run and secure the service.
- Which poster brought you: if you open Studio from one of our posters (its QR code carries a short code for a college, company or community), we save that code on your account once, together with whether your account was new. We use it only to see which posters bring people to Studio. We do not track you on other websites or apps.
- Contest entries: if you enter a contest, the details you give (name on certificate, college, department, year, email, the meaning of your lyrics) and your song, used to judge the contest, contact you and send your e-certificate. Each certificate has a public check page (studio.upskillit.com/cert/ID) showing your name, college and award, so anyone with the certificate can confirm it is genuine.
2. Why we use it
- to sign you in and keep your songs private to your account;
- to compose your songs, manage your credits, and process purchases and refunds;
- to provide support, prevent misuse (such as multiple accounts for free credits), and keep the service secure;
- to meet legal, tax and accounting obligations.
We do not sell your personal data and we do not show third-party advertising. We only email you about your account, purchases or important service changes.
3. Who processes it
- Google (Firebase and Google Cloud): sign-in, database, file storage and the AI composing servers. Data is stored in Google Cloud's Singapore region (asia-southeast1).
- Google Vertex AI (Veo): makes the videos you request. Your video description is processed in Google's us-central1 (USA) region; Google does not use it to train its models (paid service).
- Google Vertex AI (Gemini) - video descriptions: for Studio videos, Gemini reads your description (and the photo you chose, if any) to write detailed instructions for our video model, and "Improve my description" rewrites your idea on request. Google does not use them to train its models; photos are still deleted after the video is made.
- Our studio GPU (Google Cloud Run, Singapore): makes Studio videos (MiniMax H3) and lip-sync videos from your description, photo and song. Nothing is sent to MiniMax or any other company.
- Google Vertex AI (Gemini) - ✨ Ask: reads your chat messages together with your own account facts (credits, your recent creations and song titles) to answer and prepare songs and videos. Google does not use them to train its models.
- Google Vertex AI (Gemini) - Help assistant: answers questions you type in the Help panel, using our help guide and your own account facts (credits, recent creations and payments). Questions and answers are kept so we can improve the help guide; support requests are kept to answer you. Google does not use them to train its models. Do not type passwords, OTPs or card details. Deleting your account deletes them.
- Razorpay: payment processing, under its own privacy policy.
- Zoho Books: our accounting system, where your GST invoices are created and emailed.
These providers process data only to run Studio for us. We may disclose data if required by Indian law or a lawful order.
4. How long we keep it
You can delete any song or video yourself (My creations → More → Delete), any Ask chat (🗑 next to the chat), or your whole account (Credits tab → Account settings → Delete my account, or this page). If you delete your account, we delete your songs and personal data within 30 days, except records we must keep by law.

A daily automatic clean-up removes data when its time is up.
5. Your rights
You can ask us to: tell you what personal data we hold about you; correct or update it; delete it (and your account); or nominate someone to exercise your rights. You can also withdraw consent by deleting your account. Write to us using the contact below — we reply within 30 days.
6. Cookies and storage
Studio uses your browser's storage only to keep you signed in. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
7. Security
Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS) and at rest by Google Cloud. Access rules ensure only you can see your songs; only authorised UpSkilliT administrators can access data, for support and to run the service.
8. Children
Studio is only for adults (18 years and older). We do not knowingly collect data from children.
9. Grievance officer

10. Changes
We may update this policy; the date at the top shows the latest version. Significant changes will be announced on Studio.
